when i wrote the last entry about finances affecting people to frustration, anxiety... i thought of that being a cause of violence. so i googled 'reasons for violence'. i found this conservative website that is the antithesis of what i was thinking:

on my way to this site, i saw one person claiming that taking 'religion' out of school was the reason for violence, and i was thinking, that's wrong. totally wrong. i think i got into more fights when i was at CCD because of frustration caused by not wanting to be there... i mean, it's after school, you get bused over to the private catholic school, and some volunteer lady is taking up your cartoon time.

anyway, i don't think religion in school causes violence, but i certainly don't think it prevents it.

but then i got to the website i referred to earlier, and wow, how wrong can you get... i'd give you what i thought, but why don't you just go there if you wanna read about it:

lotsa wrong things

when this person writes that violence has been proven not to be spawned by economic reasons by the low crime rates during the depression... okay, first of all, weren't a lot of people suffering then? so like, you're not going to go rob your neighbor who has nothing... and now, when the gap between rich and poor is huger than ever, being poor is just downright enraging.

anyway, i like how this conservative guy rounds up his arguments with a quote of Jeffrey Dahmer touting religion. yeah, next time i want to argue for justice or peace or anything good, i'm gonna quote jeffrey dahmer, and maybe gw bush too.
